Posting this in case it saves someone else a little time.
I'm not trying to build a perfect architecture diagram. I just want a sane starting point around LM Studio and GB200.
Simple and boring is a valid answer.

What worked for me was pretty simple. If you're on SGLang, I'd confirm the version first and then reduce variables until the behavior is obvious.

That matches what I was seeing. I ended up in about the same place using PyTorch. The biggest change for me was simplifying the stack instead of adding one more optimization layer.

I hit almost the same issue last night.

My first guess would be this: Start by verifying the driver/runtime combo, then test with a smaller prompt, then look at VRAM headroom. Once you know the plain path works, then add the faster path back in piece by piece.

I'd approach it in a boring order. Before rebuilding anything, I'd test one clean baseline with Qwen and compare from there. A lot of these threads end up being one bad config plus a pile of conclusions drawn from it.

Good point. I don't think your conclusion is far off. I got better results once I stopped chasing one metric and just looked at whether the workflow felt usable.

Ran a quick check on my box. I couldn't reproduce the slowdown until I pushed context much higher. The main thing that moved was latency, not quality.
