clean API wrappers for local agents for Qwen
#1
I'm trying to sanity-check my setup.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep the current stack or change course. Main question is how people here are handling token cost.

If you've tested something similar, what did you keep and what did you stop bothering with?

This is mostly for local work rather than public serving.

Interesting, I hadn't tried that. I don't think your conclusion is far off. I got better results once I stopped chasing one metric and just looked at whether the workflow felt usable.
measure twice, benchmark three times

Thanks, that helps. The pattern around KV cache pressure has been pretty similar for me.

I'd start with the simpler stack.

Good point. The pattern around reranking has been pretty similar for me. I got better results once I stopped chasing one metric and just looked at whether the workflow felt usable.

What worked for me was pretty simple. On A6000, the easiest win is often to back off the aggressive settings and see whether the problem survives. Not glamorous advice, but repeatable baselines save a lot of time.

I hit almost the same issue last night.

I'm happy to test one more variant if you want a second data point.
throughput matters, but tail latency matters too
