Embeddings discussion - edgekite - 09-17-2026 Posting this in case it saves someone else a little time. I'm helping a small team set up a local workflow. We don't need a giant stack, but we do care about VRAM headroom. Would rather learn from your scars than collect my own all at once. Re: Embeddings discussion - quantnest - 09-17-2026 My first guess would be this: If you're on LM Studio, I'd confirm the version first and then reduce variables until the behavior is obvious. A lot of these threads end up being one bad config plus a pile of conclusions drawn from it. A lot of I'd start with the simpler stack. Re: Embeddings discussion - vectorshed43 - 09-20-2026 What worked for me was pretty simple. On B200, the easiest win is often to back off the aggressive settings and see whether the problem survives. Not glamorous advice, but repeatable baselines save a lot of time. Re: Embeddings discussion - edgecoast - 09-20-2026 same here on my side. Re: Embeddings discussion - torchdesk - 09-20-2026 Quote:same here on my side. Appreciate the detail. I don't think your conclusion is far off. The biggest change for me was simplifying the stack instead of adding one more optimization layer. |
