prefill bottlenecks on longer prompts on GB200 - cacheworks - 09-15-2026 This keeps coming up in conversation so I figured I'd start a thread. One thing I keep noticing is that people underestimate quant drift until they actually try to run this stuff for more than one afternoon. Curious whether that lines up with what other people are seeing. I care more about stability than squeezing the last possible tokens/sec out of it. Re: prefill bottlenecks on longer prompts on GB200 - amberplane - 09-17-2026 I think the bottleneck is somewhere else. The reported numbers can look compelling, but in ordinary usage I didn't see the same benefit. Re: prefill bottlenecks on longer prompts on GB200 - oxidegrove40 - 09-20-2026 I'd approach it in a boring order. Start by verifying the driver/runtime combo, then test with a smaller prompt, then look at long context. Not glamorous advice, but repeatable baselines save a lot of time. |
