driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - deepseeked - 10-17-2026 Spent some time on this today and wanted to compare notes. I'm comparing two approaches here: keep it simple on mini PC, or squeeze more out of the stack and deal with the complexity. What would you pick if you had to live with it for a few months? Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - phaseshed - 10-17-2026 subscribed, curious where this lands. Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - dockriver - 10-17-2026 What exact setup are you running? Is this local-only or are you routing anything externally? Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - nanogarden - 10-17-2026 What exact setup are you running? Do you see the same thing with a smaller batch or shorter prompt? Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - modbench - 10-17-2026 I'd approach it in a boring order. If you're on PyTorch, I'd confirm the version first and then reduce variables until the behavior is obvious. A lot of these threads end up being one bad config plus a pile of conclusions drawn from it. The biggest change for me was simplifying the stack instead of adding one more optimization layer. Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - torchsupply99 - 10-18-2026 My first guess would be this: On mini PC, the easiest win is often to back off the aggressive settings and see whether the problem survives. A lot of these threads end up being one bad config plus a pile of conclusions drawn from it. Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - cudaworks - 10-18-2026 Can you fill in a bit more context? What model, what runtime, and roughly what context size? Re: driver/framework news roundup for Kimi - bytelab - 10-19-2026 That matches what I was seeing. That matches what I saw on mini PC. I got better results once I stopped chasing one metric and just looked at whether the workflow felt usable. A lot of A couple things I'd check first. Start by verifying the driver/runtime combo, then test with a smaller prompt, then look at small local stacks. Once you know the plain path works, then add the faster path back in piece by piece. |
