new here, what's your stack: early impressions - vectorshed43 - 10-16-2026 Posting this in case it saves someone else a little time. I'm not trying to build a perfect architecture diagram. I just want a sane starting point around LM Studio and GB200. Simple and boring is a valid answer. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - tensorkite - 10-16-2026 What worked for me was pretty simple. If you're on SGLang, I'd confirm the version first and then reduce variables until the behavior is obvious. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - rocmrunner40 - 10-16-2026 That matches what I was seeing. I ended up in about the same place using PyTorch. The biggest change for me was simplifying the stack instead of adding one more optimization layer. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - thetagrid15 - 10-17-2026 I hit almost the same issue last night. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - mangofield33 - 10-17-2026 My first guess would be this: Start by verifying the driver/runtime combo, then test with a smaller prompt, then look at VRAM headroom. Once you know the plain path works, then add the faster path back in piece by piece. Once you know Tried to reproduce it just now. I couldn't reproduce the slowdown until I pushed context much higher. The main thing that moved was latency, not quality. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - audioforge - 10-18-2026 I'd approach it in a boring order. Before rebuilding anything, I'd test one clean baseline with Qwen and compare from there. A lot of these threads end up being one bad config plus a pile of conclusions drawn from it. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - orbitline - 10-18-2026 Good point. I don't think your conclusion is far off. I got better results once I stopped chasing one metric and just looked at whether the workflow felt usable. Re: new here, what's your stack: early impressions - quiettoken - 10-18-2026 Ran a quick check on my box. I couldn't reproduce the slowdown until I pushed context much higher.
